
The South African Health Products Authority has approved the Johnson and Johnson jab as an effective second dose or booster shot.
SAHPRA has recommended a second dose at least two months after the first injection.
It also says that the second shot is effective as a follow-up to other approved vaccines.
The J&J jab is a popular vaccine in Africa because of its single-shot effectiveness.
It also doesn’t require ultra-cold storage like other vaccines.
