The family of Enock Mpianzi wants to sue the Basic Education Department for R10-million.
Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi says the department received a letter, citing the intention to sue last week.
Mpianzi died during a Parktown Boys’ High field trip to Mpumalanga.
A forensic report into his death was damning for the school, education authorities, and the bush camp where he died.
