Babes Wodumo breaks down: Audio

Based on the footage from her live stream of the interview, it is evident that Babes Wodumo (real name, Bongekile Simelane) was incredibly nervous and uncomfortable about sharing this information in such a public way.

Metro FM host, Masechaba Ndlovu’s approach to outing Big Nuz band member Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo as an abuser is one that has divided the nation, so much so that very few people are actually worried about or paying attention to Babes Wodumo’s well-being.

In the footage, during one of the on-air breaks, she can be seen shaking and taking deep breaths in an effort to calm herself and no one offers her comfort.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Wodumo can be heard rushing to the bathroom to cry following the interview in the footage from the live stream that was not ended immediately after the show. It is heart-breaking to listen to.

While various people have shared their disgust at the issue and their surface-level worry for Babes, very few people are talking about what this whole saga must be doing to her mental health.

Masechaba Ndlovu has since revealed that the police minister has reached out to offer Babes protection and we genuinely hope that happens in order to provide her with the necessary peace of mind she needs as she may be worried about her safety.

But most importantly, can someone with access to Babes Wodumo ensure she gets the therapy necessary to deal with the turn of events of her life? She may have gotten out of an abusive relationship but we highly doubt she is okay.
