South Africa’s new finance minister, Tito Mboweni will hit the ground running on Wednesday.
Mboweni will get down to business, at his first cabinet meeting since taking charge of treasury.
The new minister has just two weeks to prepare for the medium term budget.
The rand is holding its ground against the US dollar, as markets react to Mboweni’s appointment.
The response on the ground has been largely positive.
