ANCYL President says Parliament is not a retirement village

Members of Parliament and provincial legislatures are set to change if the ANC Youth League keeps its promise. ANC Youth League President Collen Malatjie says he will make sure young people make up 50% of ANC representation in the National Assembly. Malatjie was speaking during a media briefing on Monday.

“The days of exploitation, the days of young people being moved out of corridors of power are over. We are going to a youth conference, we are going to elections and we are very clear, we are not going to accept any less than 50% of young people in Parliament and legislature,” he said.

“Parliament is not a retirement village. We are going to use, the 50% of the old that will remain then we will use them for wisdom.
