ANC in comfortable lead with over 30% of the vote counted: #SAElections2019

Early vote tallies suggest the ANC will retain power after an election on Wednesday.

But analysts said its share of the vote could fall below 60 percent for the first time since 1994.

As of 11am on Thursday, more than 4 million votes had been counted out of about 26.8 million registered voters.

In the parliamentary vote, the ANC was on 55.58 percent, with the DA on 25.17 percent and the EFF on nearly 8.77 percent.

The FF Plus seems to be the surprise party this election.

It’s currently sitting in fourth place on 3.02 percent.

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research believes that it’s taken some of the DA’s votes.
