Ace Magashule lays countersuit against man after altercation at ACT event

Just days after a 44-year-old man laid charges of assault against Ace Magashule, the former secretary general of the ANC and founder of the little-known African Congress for Transformation (ACT) has laid a countersuit.

Police have confirmed that the 65-year-old politician has laid two complaints at the Bothaville Police Station over the incident which took place at the weekend.

He’s opened a case of assault and crimen injuria against a man in Virginia who threw an ACT T-shirt back at Magashule and his supporters – it’s understood the piece of clothing hit the politician in the face.

Video footage of people dressed in ACT T-shirts assaulting a member of the public have been circulating on social media.

The police’s Captain Stephen Thakeng: “A 65-year old well-known politician registered a case of assault and crimen injuria that has been combined and then the two cases will be investigated thoroughly brought before the prosecutor.”
