Young Thug Demands Call With Kanye West

Young Thug has a lot of friends in high places, but it appears he’s having trouble trying to get hold of Kanye West, someone he seemingly wants to do some business with. On Friday (June 23), the Atlanta rapper — who is currently in jail awaiting the start of his YSL RICO trial — dropped a surprise album titled Business is Business. The very next day, he took to his Instagram Story to discuss doing “business” with some of his fellow musicians.

On Saturday (June 24), Thugger shared snippets of his songs with 21 Savage and Lil Uzi Vert from the new tracklist along with the message, “handled the business.”

Also in his story, he called on Ye to take his call, which has led fans to speculate that Thug might be planning a deluxe edition of Business is Business with a track featuring the Yeezy mogul. “KANYE, ANSWER THE FUCKING PHONE. IT’S BUSINESS,” the text read against a solid, black background.

Young Thug, obviously frustrated with the lack of communication coming from Ye, tried to cover his bases by also tapping him up on Twitter — even though he no longer has an account. “Kanye doesn’t have a Twitter but somehow he’ll see this Tweet.”

Business Is Business was produced mostly by Metro Boomin and is Thug’s first album since his arrest early last year. The 15-piece tracklist boasts features by Drake, Future, and Travis Scott, among others, and was announced only a day prior to its release.

The black and white cover art features the YSL boss in the courtroom looking toward the exit while everyone else he’s flanked by in suits stares ahead toward the judge’s chair. The record features a song called “Want Me Dead,” in which the embattled rapper appears to take a shot at Saweetie.

“Bitch, you cheated, don’t speak when you see me/ I’m in the Turbo S, no GP (skrt)/ I’m getting head from the Ch-, I mean, CC/ My n-gga ain’t even trying to hit Saweetie (Nah)/ That bitch turn me off, no Kizzy (no Kizzy),” he raps on the track, according to the Genius lyrics page.

But Young Thug took to Twitter that same day to clarify what some critics have been calling a diss. “Her name is Saweetie. I said sweetie #businessisbusiness,” he wrote. “Also, that song is 6 years old.”
