Young Thug Assures Drake That He Will Be Paid For Surprise New Album

Young Thug has dropped his new album Business Is Business which includes two Drake features — but it appears the 6 God hasn’t been paid for his contributions yet. Released on Friday (June 23), Drizzy opens the album with a verse and chorus on “Parade on Cleveland,” before Thug enters the track with a phone call from Cobb County Adult Detention Center and a verse of his own.

“Don’t tell me ’bout loyalty, show me this time/ Business is business, you owe me this time/ Slime on your head, Nickelodeon time,” Drizzy raps.

Drake posted the cover art to his Instagram page on Thursday (June 22) with the caption: “You owe me this time…midnight @thuggerthugger1.”

Thugger — who is currently incarcerated amid the sweeping YSL RICO case — then took to the comments of the post, writing: “U will be paid.”

Drake also appears on another track called “Oh U Went” where he calls himself a “visionary.”

“6 God, he a visionary/ I’m the definition like the dictionary/ Baby, turn around, forget the missionary/ If they pull up on me with some bad intentions/ You gon’ read about it in obituary/ I got more soldiers than the military,” he raps.

Young Thug’s new album also includes features from Future, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Yak Gotti, BSlime, Lil Gotit and Nate Ruess.

Drizzy previously showed his support for Young Thug in August on “Sticky” from his Honestly, Nevermind album. “Bring them girls to the stage / ‘Cause somebody’s getting paid / Free Big Slime out the cage,” he raps on the song. In the music video, “FREE YSL” appears on the screen as Drizzy raps the line.

Young Thug released his last solo album Punk in October 2021 with features from J. Cole, Gunna, Future, Juice WRLD, Post Malone, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Travis Scott, Doja Cat, Mac Miller, and others.

Debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, it moved roughly 90,000 total album-equivalent units in its first week.

Elsewhere, Drake is the latest rapper to praise Bun B‘s Trill Burgers after stopping by the Houston restaurant to give props to one of his mentors earlier this week.

The Toronto star made a surprise visit to the new H-Town staple’s brick-and-mortar location on Monday (June 19) where he lent his stamp of approval to the UGK rapper’s work in the culinary department, calling his famed burgers the “best” he’s ever had.
