Young boy killed following a collision with a tree. At 15H17 Sunday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a serious collision on Oxford Road near Rosebank Mall in Melrose.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a light motor vehicle lost control resulting in the car crashing into a tree.

Paramedics assessed the scene and found that a 17-year-old male believed to be the front passenger had sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.

The driver of the vehicle a male in his early twenties sustained moderate injuries.

The patient was treated on the scene and once stabilised was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further treatment. All necessary authorities were on the scene.

At 16H24 Sunday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on Allan Road in Glen Austin AH, Midrand.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a light motor vehicle drove into the back of a truck.

The driver was not found on the scene when emergency services arrived on the scene. The front passenger however sustained moderate injuries. read more
