Moja Love issues warning to former ‘Sizok’thola’ presenter Xolani Khumalo

DStv channel 157, Moja Love has served former Sizok’thola presenter Xolani Khumalo with a cease and desist letter.

According to a statement by Moja Love spokesperson Nonzwakazi Cekete, they have discovered that Khumalo has been shooting a show under the guise of Sizok’thola, which belongs to the channel.

“Moja Love has been receiving complaints about unfortunate incidents during filming from The Consulate General of Nigeria and the Embassy of the DRC about their citizens who have been attacked during filming.

“Moja Love would like to set the record straight that it is not the channel’s property that has been filming and distances itself from the rogue activities.

“‘Sizok’thola’ is the intellectual property of Moja Love and Xolani Khumalo is using the concept of the channel, which amounts to breaking the law. The channel has sent him a letter of cease and desist and we will do everything in power, within the law, to stop him,” read the statement.

Khumalo was fired as the Sizok’thola host last year. Moja Love recently revealed that he will be replaced by Xolani Maphanga, who hosts X-Repo on the channel.

His dismissal relates to the death of a drug dealer named Robert “Kicks” Varrie who had been the subject of a drug bust at his Katlehong home on 19 July, which was attended by the Sizok’thola crew.

In September Khumalo handed himself over to the Katlehong North Police Station where he was charged with murder and later granted R20 000 bail.

During court proceedings in November, State prosecutor Pheello Vilakazi told the court that Khumalo faces additional charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances and malicious property damage.

Khumalo is facing more murder allegations, according to Sunday World.

The anti-drug activist is accused of killing yet another alleged drug dealer after ambushing him with his crew and the police at Y2K nightclub on 20 March. The alleged victim is a Congolese man named Heriter Abuba.

According to his brother, John Wembo, Abuba was beaten up several times and kicked in the abdomen.

Wembo alleged that Khumalo and the team only called an ambulance when they allegedly could tell that Abuba was close to dying.

“Unfortunately, my brother passed on after being admitted to the hospital,” he said.
