About a month ago, South Africa got its first-ever Xitsonga TV show, Giyani: Land of Blood, and Yvonne Chaka Chaka is happy to be part of it. Yvonne said she wants to raise the flag of the Tsonga people high, and from the raving reviews the show has been getting, she’s definitely making Mzansi proud. The actress and singer says she’s not surprised that the show is doing so well, Mzansi has been waiting for something like this. She added that she wants to put Xitsonga on the map, as reported on by SowetanLIVE

We have been supporting the likes of Isibaya for years, and it’s great, but now it is time for the same kind of support for other shows. There is obviously an appetite for it but we need to unite and support each other rather than see each other as competition.

Yvonne portrays the role of Gladys, a matriarch that takes no nonsense from no one and fans adore her.
I am not sure people will like her all that much after they see what she is capable of. Gladys is expected to soon show her true, cruel colours.
