Workshop Supervisor (Stainless Steel) – Wadeville

Permanent position

Based in Wadeville

Package highly negotiable

Pre-requisites

(i) Formal qualification/training in Mechanical or structural engineering with experience in Fabrication of Tankage and Pressure vessels.

(ii) Experience in the supervision of manufacturing or fabrication workshops

 

(iii) Computer Literate in Microsoft Office

Advantages

DUTIES: The duties include but are not limited to the following:

WORKSHOP

1. Management of the fabrication function of the division using the proven techniques of planning, organizing, leading and control of outputs and quality.

2. Optimize and control man hours to agreed pre-set levels.

3. Provide inspiration, motivation and disciplinary leadership.

4. Liaison and co-operation with the marketing, estimating, quality, purchasing and stores functions to ensure optimum completion of the jobs.

5. Understanding the technical, quality and delivery requirements of the jobs to ensure customer expectations are met.

6. Ensuring that man hours, materials, consumables and maintenance costs are correctly allocated to the respective jobs, contracts and accounting codes. Being proactive to correct any negative variances that may be occurring on any job.

7. Be proactive to changes in the workload so that adjustments can be made to optimize outputs and minimize costs

8. Ensuring that workshop, equipment, machines and tools are maintained cost effectively.

9. Ensure that housekeeping is to high standard of lay-out, storage, neatness and cleanliness, i.e. A place for everything and everything in its place.

10. Ensure that the safety and first aid are in accordance with the applicable Statutory Instruments and Acts

11. Be responsible for training and shop floor industrial relations.

12. Liaising with customers and independent inspectors in order to satisfy their shop floor requirements.

13. Assisting with any other aspects required by the company.

Candidate Requirements
(i) Formal qualification/training in Mechanical or structural engineering with experience in Fabrication of Tankage and Pressure vessels.

(ii) Experience in the supervision of manufacturing or fabrication workshops

(iii) Computer Literate in Microsoft Office
