The Fergusons; Shona and Connie Ferguson shocked their fans when they said they’re opening up the industry by searching for new talent.
This is a great opportunity for new/upcoming talents in the country as the productions company has been blasted for hiring the same actors.
His move is potentially a PR stunt by the company as they don’t have a squeaky clean image.
The Fergusons have been bashed for firing actors for lots of things; making them look bad on social media, asking for leave, and requesting an increase in salaries. This move shocked their followers and fans because Shona himself previously stated that he is against opening up the industry.
“The term “recycling actors” is very insulting to actors in our industry. Actors act. That’s what they do for a living. Saying because they’ve been on 1 project they should be cast away and someone new must be cast is unfair. I have never cared for this particular phrase “open up the industry” because it’s what we do every day of our lives. We open up the industry to new and old talent. We open up the industry to the world.”
He began the year on a different note by announcing that they are looking for new lead actors to star in their shows. The production company said those who are interested should send their short bio and a 1-minute monologue to an email he shared on his Instagram post.

CHARACTER 4: Female.

LANGUAGE: Setswana
