What happened at Cassper Nyovest’s #FillUpMosesMabhida concert

What happened at Cassper Nyovest’s #FillUpMosesMabhida concert. As the rain came down in Durban, there must have been two things going through Cassper Nyovest’s mind – “This stupid rain is going to mess up my show” or “What a blessing”.
Either way, he must have been anxious, because he needed to fill up Durban’s iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium. His concert courted controversy even before it could begin, over whether the eThekwini Municipality would provide funding.

The municipality this week said apart from the use of the stadium, the City would not be contributing any finances.

There were high hopes that he would actually fill the stadium, but by 8 pm he was nowhere close. There was still lots of room in the stands and golden circle, but fans continued to trickle in.

Only about half the stadium could accommodate people, which amounts to about 30 000 people. About 20 000 fans were in attendance.

Fans who attended made it a family affair, with parents accompanying their children and dancing to the music.

The rapper is performing on Sunday at the Global Citizens Festival in Johannesburg.

BET Award-winning Sjava, who also performed, made a grand entrance on stage in a Quantum taxi. The crowd’s reaction to him was explosive, with people singing along to the songs he performed.
