The Democratic Alliance has managed to retain control of the Western Cape with just over 56% of the vote.
In a tweet posted on Tuesday, Premier candidate Alan Winde thanked voters for supporting the party.
“Thank you to voters in the Western Cape. Let’s keep making progress, together! #Election2019Results”, read the tweet.
The latest results are a slight decline for the party which managed to secure 57% of the vote in the Western Cape in 2014.
