Former Orlando Pirates and Warriors Striker Tendai Ndoro Has Died

Former Zimbabwe international and Orlando Pirates striker, Tendai Ndoro, has sadly passed away at the age of 40. According to Mbare Times, the former Warriors forward was found dead in his apartment in South Africa.
While the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, it is known that Ndoro had been struggling with health challenges in recent years.
Tendai Ndoro and his history with diabetes
His later life was marked by a series of health battles that drew concern across the football fraternity. In 2021, disturbing images surfaced showing the once-prolific forward visibly frail, with reports suggesting he had suffered complications related to diabetes. At one stage, he lost a significant amount of weight and even temporarily lost his eyesight, which forced him to step away from professional football.
Although he appeared to regain some strength, his health troubles persisted. By May 2025, Ndoro was again hospitalised in Durban, South Africa, where he reportedly underwent surgery to remove a tumour under his armpit. His struggles highlighted the vulnerability of retired athletes and the urgent need for stronger support systems for former footballers both in Zimbabwe and beyond.
In a Facebook post, Moreboys Munetsi also confirmed the news and extended his condolences to the Ndoro family:
