SASSA Announces February 2026 Grant Payment Dates

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially confirmed the payment dates for social grants for February 2026, reassuring millions of beneficiaries across the country. As in previous months, grant payments will be released during the first week of February, starting on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, with older persons receiving their grants first.

SASSA continues to implement a staggered payment system to reduce long queues and congestion at pay points, ATMs, and banking halls. This approach is aimed at improving safety, convenience, and efficiency for beneficiaries, particularly the elderly and people living with disabilities.

February 2026 SASSA Payment Schedule

According to SASSA, the payment dates are as follows:

  • Older Persons Grant: Tuesday, 3 February 2026
  • Disability Grant: Wednesday, 4 February 2026
  • Children’s Grants: Thursday, 5 February 2026

As reported by The Citizen, SASSA clarified that the Child Support Grant, Foster Care Grant, and Care Dependency Grant all fall under the Children’s Grants category and will therefore be paid on the same day.

SASSA Grant Amounts Remain the Same

SASSA has confirmed that grant amounts remain unchanged for February 2026. Beneficiaries will continue to receive:

  • R370 per month for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant
  • R2,335 per month for older persons aged 75 years and above

Other grant categories will also be paid at their current approved rates.

Important Reminders for Beneficiaries

SASSA encourages beneficiaries to remember that funds do not need to be withdrawn on the first payment day. Once deposited, the money will remain safely in beneficiaries’ accounts until they choose to access it. Grants can be collected via bank accounts, SASSA cards, ATMs, and selected retail outlets.

Beneficiaries are also urged to keep their personal details up to date and to be cautious of scams. SASSA has reiterated that it does not charge fees for grant services or application assistance.

For the latest updates or queries, beneficiaries can contact SASSA directly through its official channels or visit their nearest SASSA office.
