My client, a specialist engineering / technical concern, is seeking to employ a warehouse assistant to be responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders.
Duties will include but is not limited to:
Picking of Orders.
Pick orders as per the picking lists and process them by completing any required paperwork, locating items in the warehouse, moving them to the processing and shipping area.
Packing of Orders
Pack Orders in preparation for shipping. Items must be inspected to ensure they are not damaged or missing any parts, and then packaged according to specifications.
Maintaining Inventory
You will be expected to maintain warehouse inventory by arranging boxes and making sure they’re stored in a way that they won’t be damaged. You should make sure to track all orders, packaging, and shipping in order to ensure inventory is accurately recorded.
Housekeeping
You will be responsible for maintaining general cleanliness in the warehouse.
Qualifications and requirements:
Matric with Basic Maths
Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills in both Afrikaans and English
Proficient in basic computer applications including Excel, Word, Email.
Great physical stamina and health as the position will require you to stand for long periods and will include heavy lifting.
Valid Driver’s License
Additional Qualifications / Experience that will be advantageous but not a requirement:
Forklift Operation Certification
Previous working experience as a Warehouse Worker/Assistant
Sage Evolution (stock module only) or other stock control software
Other personal skills/characteristics:
Team player
Good organizational and time-management skills
Great interpersonal and communication skills
