Gauteng police have arrested a man believed to be part of the notorious Boko Haram gang.
The 31-year-old man, listed as one of the SAPS’s most wanted suspects, was nabbed in Mamelodi on Sunday.
The criminal group is believed to be running an extortion syndicate in the area.
“The suspect is suspected of being involved in crimes such as business robbery, extortion, intimidation, and other serious and violent crime. He is also reported to be involved in a chain store robbery in Mamelodi where an undisclosed amount of cash and groceries were taken,” the police’s Mavela Masondo said.
Masondo said that the man was expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
