The gospel star was diagnosed with a brain tumor back in 2008. Yesterday, 23 May marked 10 years since Vuyo’s passing.
In 2008 it was reported that various artists were planning to hold a concert to raise funds for Vuyo’s operation which was estimated to cost the Mokoena family R3.3 million, but before the concert could even take place, Vuyo passed on.
The gospel singer may be gone but his memory lives on through The Vuyo Mokoena Foundation an NGO that seeks to make a difference in underprivileged communities which was an initiative started by the late singer and is now being continued by his widow Tebogo Mokoena.
Tebogo has recently started another initiative tilted the Live On Life initiative in memory of her husband.
