
Around 40,000 people visited voting stations in the Western Cape on Saturday.
Provincial electoral officer Michael Hendrickse said all 1,572 voting stations opened on Saturday for the final voter registration weekend.
The publication spoke to Hendrickese in Wallacedene, where he said that no incidents were reported on Saturday and they were hoping for a similar outcome on Sunday.
The publication visited voting registration stations in Philippi and Athlone where IEC officials reported turnouts of between 15 and 25 people.
