Former ANC MP, Vincent Smith has been granted bail of R30, 000. Smith handed himself over to the Hawks on Thursday morning and has since appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s court in Gauteng. He has been charged on two counts of corruption.
In evidence before the state capture inquiry, it was alleged that Smith and his company received bribes from Bosasa.
Smith will be back in court on 14 October. The NPA started arresting people implicated in embezzling state funds.
