The defence was given the full docket and indictment after new charges, pertaining to SARS, were added against Smith.
The defence says it’s now awaiting further instruction from its client on whether he will plead guilty to those new charges or wants the matter to be heard in court.
It expects to have the instruction by the next court appearance and then a trial date will be set if Smith doesn’t plead guilty.
