Another VBS looting suspect arrested

The Hawks have made yet another arrest related to VBS Mutual Bank looting. A 59-year-old suspect has been arrested in Klerksdorp.

It’s understood the suspect was involved in the now doomed bank through investing of the Mahikeng Local Municipality’s funds.

The suspect is alleged to have received gratification in the form of credit facilities.

He used this to buy two vehicles and a property in Klerksdorp amounting to over R1.7-million between 2017 and 2018.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Mahikeng Regional Court on Wednesday.
