Following the release of Valheim’s Hearth & Home update this past September, developer Iron Gate AB has dedicated its focus to the development of a new biome, the Mistlands. The Mistlands is yet to receive a release date, but Iron Gate continues to offer up small reveals and teasers as work progresses on Valheim’s next update. The latest example was shared recently and featured a look at certain ruined structures from a mysterious Valheim civilization found deep within the Mistlands.
Two images were shared via an update to Valheim’s Steam profile said to be new structures found within the upcoming Mistlands biome. Iron Gate describes the Mistlands as a location where past civilizations built both homes and strongholds. The two images offer a glimpse of that. The first image looks like a stone home of some kind. The second image appears to be an aqueduct with tall pillars holding it up in the sky. Both images feature backgrounds filled with mist, naturally.
Iron Gate also teases that there’s something more to the teaser images than meets the eye. In a post on Twitter featuring one of the Mistlands images, Iron Gate asks “Who might have lived in the Mistlands once upon a time?” It’s possible that Valheim players will get to meet these people, or perhaps what caused their demise. At the very least, Iron Gate will hopefully provide inside into what happened in the Mistlands that made it the way it is now.
Who might have lived in the Mistlands once upon a time? Whoever they were, they left behind some pretty cool structures, which you can check out in this month’s #Valheim Steam blog!https://t.co/44Iv3Irg6r pic.twitter.com/PgIGzekZZp
