Mediclinic said it’s expecting COVID-19 vaccine doses to be delivered on Thursday.
The private health sector has joined hands with the government to fast track the vaccination rollout.
Mediclinic says it could inoculate 10,000 people a day if supplied across the country.
Chief Clinical Officer at Mediclinic Gerrit de Villiers said: “We definitely realized that we have to ramp up the number of people we vaccinate per day to get to the numbers needed by the end of this year, we have indicated that we will start as soon as possible in some of our healthcare facilities.
“Unfortunately, we are still waiting for vaccine deliveries which are expected today [Thursday].”
