It has been a busy day in Zimbabwe as people voted for the presidential harmonised elections. The voting process has so far gone in peace and it is expected to continue. ZEC chairperson justice Chigumba says: By 6 pm, Masvingo had 60.62% turnout. Byo 70% turnout by 6pm. Midlands 75% turnout. ZEC chair Priscilla Chigumba, after keeping journalists waiting for over an hour, puts up the most uninformative press conference of all time. Here are the highlights:

4 provinces had called in voter turnout stats by 6 PM:

Masvingo – 60.62 per cent
Bulawayo – 70 per cent
Midlands – 74 per cent
Harare – 70 per cent

Average 1% turned away for failing to produce a correct photo ID. Some with birth certificates, licences or expired passports.
