Gauteng: At 21H09 Sunday night Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R59 in Highbury, Randvaal.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male motorcyclist with a female passenger lost control while trying to avoid a piece of scrap metal that fell off the back of a truck.
Medics assessed the scene and found that the female patient had sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise her.
The male patient had sustained moderate injuries.
Both patients were treated on the scene and once stabilised were transported by ambulance to the hospital for further treatment.
