Two dead, two seriously injured in N1 collision

Gauteng: At 10H14 Saturday morning, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the N1 near the Grasmere Toll Plaza, Lenasia South. Reports indicate that an SUV slammed into the passenger side of a Bakkie, resulting in a rollover.

Medics assessed the scene and found that an adult male and adult female, both believed to be in their thirties were trapped inside the bakkie. On scene were the JMPD, SAPS, fire and rescue services as well as multiple other ems.

Both patients showed no signs of life and were declared deceased on the scene. Two other patients from the SUV had sustained serious injuries and were treated on scene by advanced life support paramedics before being transported to the hospital for further care. Circumstances leading up to the incident will be investigated by the relevant authorities who were on the scene.

According to the judiciary’s website Mizan Online, the unidentified accused set a government building on fire, and was sentenced on the charge of “disturbing public order and comfort, community and colluding to commit a crime against national security.”
