Jaws of Life used to free truck driver

KwaZulu-Natal: At 11H20 Saturday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the N2 Southbound Claire Hills, Durban.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a truck lost control resulting in a rollover.

Medics from Netcare 911 and Life Response 24 assessed the scene and found that the truck had three male occupants one if which was mechanically entrapped.

The patient was treated on scene by an Advanced life support paramedic while the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services SAPS Search and Rescue as well as Metro Police Search and Rescue used hydraulic tools to free the man from the wreckage.

Once freed all three patients were transported by ambulance to the hospital for further treatment.
