At 14H49 Wednesday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the N3 near Umlaas Road.
Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a truck transporting Manganese lost control resulting in a rollover.
Traffic was diverted when the load had caught alight.
The driver an adult male sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
All necessary authorities are on scene.
