Tru FM breakfast show producer Mello T has died

The entertainment industry is shocked by the death of club DJ and Tru FM breakfast show content producer, Thando “Mello T” Mdutyana.

Mello T (35) died on Saturday,  after being to the hospital on Wednesday, 9 December.

After working as a DJ in Mthatha and surrounding areas, Mello T moved to Bisho in 2007 to work on Tru FM as a producer on various shows.

He released a single last year, titled Sebenza featuring Luthando Mzi.

He released another single in September titled Rayi Rayi, featuring Olothando Ndamase.

When he released his first single, Mello T described that moment as the right time for him to release his own sound, stating he has grown and matured in the music and entertainment industry.

Born in Willovale, Mello T started his radio career 18 years ago hosting an afternoon drive show on Unitra Community Radio in Mthatha.

The SABC confirmed his death and said it would release an official statement soon.
