Idols South Africa season 12 contestant and musician, Thami Shobede has died at the age of 31. According to Sowetan, the star died this morning at Kalafong Hospital in Pretoria.
Gallo Records general manager confirmed the news to the newspaper. He said in part: Gallo Record Company is extremely saddened and shocked to learn of the sudden passing of one of our artists Simphiwe Thamsanqa Shobede, fondly know as Thami.
Since the news of Thami’s death, messages of condolences have been pouring out on social media.
Saddened by the news that Singer @ThamiShobede has passed away.

In other news – Itumeleng Khune keen to be reunited with Lebese at Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs captain Itumeleng Khune is said to be trying to convince the club to bring winger George Lebese back to Naturena. Reports suggest that Khune approached the club’s management to discuss Lebese’s possible return to Chiefs.
Lebese, who left Chiefs in August 2017, was released by Mamelodi Sundowns on transfer deadline, after a frustrating two seasons at the Pretoria-based club. Read more
