Traffic Disruptions and Alternative Routes
The crash has completely closed off the N6, forcing authorities to reroute traffic along alternative roads. Motorists traveling through the affected area have been advised to follow specific detour routes to avoid congestion and delays.
Towa provided a detailed breakdown of alternative routes:
- Vehicles departing from Reddersburg must take the R717 towards Edenburg, covering a 27-kilometre detour.

- They must then proceed along the R715 to Smithfield, before rejoining the N6 after an additional 103 kilometres.
For travelers originating from Smithfield, the recommended route is:
- Take the R715 to Springfontein,
- Then the N1 to Bloemfontein, covering a 140-kilometre journey.
Motorists have been urged to exercise patience and caution while navigating these alternative routes.
