At 13H53 Friday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R614 Noodsberg between Pietermaritzburg and Wartburg.
Reports from the scene indicate that a light motor vehicle and a tractor were involved in a collision.
Medics assessed the scene and found an adult male had sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.
Circumstances leading up to the collision will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
