Gauteng: At 11H24 Sunday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of traumatic injury at a Wonderboom nursery.
Reports from the scene indicate that a 58-year-old female who was driving a tractor at the time had gotten her clothing caught in the prop shaft resulting in her getting pulled in as well.
Medics assessed the scene and found that the lady had sustained an almost complete amputation of the left leg.
The patient was treated on scene by an Advanced life support paramedic who found her to be in a critical condition.
Due to the nature of the patient’s injuries the Netcare 7 specialized helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift her to hospital for further assessment.
