High drama as 13-year-old pupil brings his mother’s tlof tlof toy to school

Primary school pupils are said to be bringing drugs, weapons, and s.e.x toys to school. This was according to national school governing body (SGB) chairman Gilbert Monaisa, who said pupils lately were very disrespectful towards teachers because they were under the influence of drugs.

Monaisa was speaking at a Safety Summit in Diepkloof, Soweto, which was hosted by the Gauteng Department of Community Safety on Sunday, 15 May.

He said: “They don’t respect their teachers. They come to school high. These pupils are addicted to drugs at primary school. Parents please help us. These kids bring weapons to school.”

He said teachers were getting younger, which was probably why the pupils were disrespectful towards them.

“Our teachers nowadays are millennials. There are no longer teachers who are mother and father figures.”

Monaisa said there was a recent incident at a primary school in Diepkloof where a young boy brought a s.e.x toy to school.

“This young man is 13 years old. He came to school with a vibrator and was poking other kids with it. When we were asking him about it, he told us it belonged to his mother,” he said.

“Parents, please, we are asking that we discuss the issue of these kids, especially at the primary school level, so that we can see how we can assist them.”
