International well known speaker, Simon Sinek once said: “Get the workplace environment right and you’ll most likely get the right attitude”.
These words ring true to soon to be former Uzalo’s actor, TK Dlamini who skillfully portrayed the character of Mastermind.
Loyal viewers of Uzalo must have noticed that last night’s episode introduced fresh faces that form part of a new and riveting storyline.
This move from the producers of the show was prompted by a bulk of its actors who have jump ship, citing unprofessionalism and financial woes as reasons for leaving Uzalo.
South Africa’s leading soapie magazine, TV Guide SA had the opportunity to speak to TK about his exit from Uzalo.
He said the following: “Well, firstly I needed to grow, but also the environment in that production is not the same anymore.
He continued to add: ”It doesn’t feel like we’re a family, it feels like everyone is just there to get a pay check… and I can’t work in a place like that, because I’m not doing this for money, I do it for the love of the industry. I hope they treat the new cast members, better than they treated us.”
Staunch fans of the show will definitely miss seeing their favourite character on screen, however with new faces being introduced on the show, hopefully viewers will warm up to them and find new favourites.
