Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for about 10 suspects who allegedly robbed a cashin-transit truck of an undisclosed amount of money in Soshanguve, north of Tshwane on Friday, 25 March.
Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Netshiunda said the cash truck was on its way to Tshwane along Nkuna Street when it happened.
He said suspects allegedly forced the cash truck to a standstill before shooting at it and forced the driver and his crew out of the bullet-ridden vehicle.
“The suspects reportedly robbed the guard of his firearm. It is also reported that two bystanders sustained injuries during the shooting.”
Netshiunda said the suspects apparently left the scene in two white Ford Ranger bakkies and a VW Golf.

“Residents are warned not to contaminate the cash-in-transit robbery scene by moving in to collect what is left of the money, as that is a criminal act.”
He said that anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts is urged to contact their nearest police station or call CrimeStop at 08600 10111.
“Tip-offs can also be relayed via the MySAPS app which can be downloaded on any smartphone,” he said.
