The case against the third suspect in the shooting of Eldorado Park teen Nathaniel Julies has been postponed.
His bail hearing has been set for the 10 September. The suspect remains in custody with two other suspects.
The 16-year-old with Down syndrome was shot and died later in hospital last week. He was allegedly shot by a police officer and taken to hospital at the back of a police vehicle.
His killing sparked protests in the Johannesburg South community.
The man who appeared in court on Thursday is an Eldorado Park police detective.
All three face charges of murder, defeating the ends of justice, and being in possession of prohibited ammunition.
