As the day draws closer for Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale Moutang’s big day, Briefly.co.za decided to compile a list of six important details ahead of their much-awaited jubilee.
According to City Press, Somizi and Mohale will tie the knot at their traditional wedding ceremony at Mohale’s parents home on Saturday, 28 September. Their second wedding ceremony, their big white wedding, is set for January 2020.
Some of Mzansi’s biggest celebs are set to attend the event. A few months ago, Somizi and Mohale revealed that they had invited President Cyril Ramaphosa to their white wedding. The guest list is still a big secret but Somizi did spill the tea on who will be performing on his big day. He named-dropped Judith Sephuma, Brenda Mtambo, Vusi Nova, Lerato Kganyago, Naked DJ and Prince Kaybee among the celeb stars on social media.
Somizi and Mohale have been engaged for more than a year now. Somizi popped the question at the Pont des Arts (love locks) bridge in Paris, France in March last year. They threw an engagement dinner party for family and friends in October.

Although there was speculation that they will have a TV special of their big day, like Minnie Dlamini did, shortly after their engagement. Reports that the pair had signed a R3m deal with Mzansi Magic were dismissed by the broadcaster. TshisaLive reported that Nondumiso Mabece, head of PR at M-Net, told IOL in a statement that: “Somizi Mhlongo is a member of the Mzansi Magic family, even though we do not have a contract to broadcast his wedding, we would be honoured to share in the celebrations of his special day.
Somizi said he was older and wise enough to know when he was not truly loved. “Most of you who are busy saying things about him would not hesitate taking his place should the opportunity arise. You never think that someone like him can love someone like me genuinely. You always place material gains in everything. And even if that was the reason, so what? Am I complaining? [You’re] busy saying he’s using me for money. Hayo suka niyakhathaza,” said Somizi addressing the haters.
