My life was not in danger, says Thandi Modise

Defence Minister Thandi Modise says she didn’t feel her life was in danger during Thursday night’s hostage drama, she was, however, unhappy about being detained after the meeting had ended.
The Minister, her deputy, and the Minister in the Presidency had to be rescued by police after being held hostage by war veterans at the Saint George Hotel outside Pretoria.
Modise has welcomed the restraint by the police in handling the hostage drama. She says the government is committed to engaging with people rather than using force.
Police Minister Bheki Cele also commended the SAPS Special Task Force for the swift rescue.
Minister Mondli Gungubele says the hostage drama was uncalled for in the midst of a cordial dialogue with the LSVW.
