a detailed curriculum vitae and cover letter (please note that the first three (3) referees on your CV will be contacted with regard to reference checking);
certified copies (not older than 3 months) of all academic records;
certified copies (not older than 3 months) of qualifications (please provide the SAQA accreditation in the case of foreign qualifications);
a certified copy (not older than 3 months) of your identity document (ID).

Duties and responsibilities:
Install and handle temporary exhibitions, permanent collections and art projects.
Coordinate exhibition logistics including transportation, insurance, consignment letters, invitations, etc.
Assist in creating exhibition dossiers.
Pack and store artworks.
Care and maintenance of gallery spaces.
Care and maintenance of permanent art collection.
Update, digitise and maintain database and cataloguing of artworks.
Responsible for documentation of exhibitions and projects.
Responsible for educational walkabouts, tours, etc.

Inherent requirements:
Grade 12 on NQF level 4.
One (1) to two (2) years’ relevant working experience related to the duties and responsibilities as listed above within a gallery.

Required competencies:
Strong technical skills and knowledge of installation and general care of artworks.
Good knowledge in contemporary art.
Computer skills.
Good interrelations.
Basic research skills.

Recommendations:
Bachelor’s degree or three (3) diploma on NQF level 7 in the arts is preferable, as the candidate needs to have a solid understanding and knowledge in contemporary arts to be able to work with arts practitioners.
