Duties and responsibilities:
Deliver teaching and learning information services to the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences.
Equip faculty staff and students with skills on how to use the library and its resources.
Develop effective strategic relations and stakeholder management internally and externally.
Build a comprehensive collection that meets the faculty’s teaching, learning and research needs.

Inherent requirements:
Degree in Library and Information Studies on NQF level 7 or equivalent qualifications (Any degree plus Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies).
Five (5) years’ relevant experience related to the duties and responsibilities as set out above.
LIASA membership (Attach 2019 membership certificate).

Knowledge of Library and Information Science as a profession in the academic environment.
Presentation and training skills, including the development of training content.
Knowledge of collection development (assessment and selection of information resources).
Benchmarking knowledge and skills.
Ability to conduct users’ needs surveys.
Knowledge of library management systems (SIERRA).
Computer literacy.
Quality control and assessment of services.
Excellent interpersonal relations.
Client service orientation.
Excellent communication skills as well as ability to liaise on different levels internally and externally.
Innovative/creative problem solving skills.
Ability to work in a diverse environment and adapt easily to change.
Teamwork – Ability to work with others.
Leadership and decision making skills.
Willingness to work outside normal office hours (commitment).
Organisational and planning skills.

01 August 2019 or soon thereafter
