Tasty homemade crumbed mushrooms

I love good crumbed mushrooms and they are usually my guilty pleasure when going out to have dinner at a restaurant. However, these days we’re spending a lot more time at home which really makes me miss all the treats I enjoyed on those outings.

So why not bring them home? I’m as able in the kitchen as the next guy, and these yummy crumbed mushrooms are really not that hard to make.

You’ll need a few basic items, but then you’re pretty much half-way there. Making them at home is actually much nicer because I can make any sauce that I want to enjoy with them and I can get a little extra sauce without having to ask the waiter or having to pay more.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup or 128 grams flour

1 cup or 128 grams breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon salt

4 eggs

400 g Button Mushrooms (use more mushrooms if needed, the ingredients are enough)

Sunflower oil for deep-frying.

Mayonnaise and whole mustard for the dipping sauce.

METHOD
1.Heat the oil in a frying pan (not too hot)
2.Whisk the eggs well in a bowl
3.Using a separate bowl, mix the flour, bread crumbs and salt together.
4.Place the mushrooms in the eggs mixture, make sure to cover completely. Coat the mushrooms well with the crumbs and flour mixture. dip in not too hot oil for a few minutes. Lightly fry in oil until golden brown.
5.Use a slotted spoon to remove from oil, drain on paper towel.
*Serve while warm.
