Half-time: Nigeria 0-0 Iceland After another couple of Icelandic crosses into the Nigeria penalty area, the ref blows for the interval. It hasn’\t been a classic by any standards, but it’s entertaining enough. Iceland began and ended the half brightly, but Nigeria was impressive in between. Both teams are looking toothless up front and with better finishing, Iceland should be a goal or two ahead.
Both the teams have not really created much this game. Iceland have not been their usual energetic selves with suggestions that they are struggling with the heat. Nigeria also lack a bit of quality on the ball.
Nigeria survive! Sigurdsson whips in a dangerous freekick from the right flank. Nigeria do not deal with it and it ricochets of Finnbogasson and creeps wide. That was close.
Half-time and it is goalless. Gernot Rohr would not be the happiest of coaches. Though the Super Eagles dominated possession, it was Iceland who created the better chances. Nigeria needs to get something out of this game to stay alive in the tournament. Argentina fans will definitely be cheering them on. 45 important minutes come up.
