Following the damning cheating evidence presented to the court of public opinion, SuperSport has distanced itself from the disgraced athlete’s cheating scandal.
A spokesperson for SuperSport Clinton Van der Berg told City press that they have had a conversation with Matthew and they will be allowing him to deal with his personal affairs privately.
“We have a simple line which we have and that is, SuperSport is aware of the allegations involving Matthew Booth, which are private.
City Press says that the SuperSport has been communicating with Matthew and would not be divulging what was discussed in their chat because it was a private matter.
According to the publication, Matthew is scheduled to be on SuperSport’s panel of football experts ahead of the Qatar 2022 Football World Cup tournament.
South Africans have weighed in on what they believe the soccer legend should have done. Some did not however miss the chance to throw humour into the ‘cheesecake’ situation.
“Matthew Booth must be one of the speakers at Men’s conference next year. He must share ingredients and methods of making a cheesecake,” says @wcsa_razetion.
Controversial tweep Nota says, “Matthew Booth pulled a Kwesta on us… We’ll defend him but honestly this is not how a man cheats. You either make your wife proud of you or you make her & your children lose all respect for you. If he cheated with Mihlali or Boity or anyone of these other he’s not this b*tch!
