The Western Cape police have confirmed that a Bolt driver accused of assault has been arrested.

The 39-year-old man’s arrest follows an incident in which two women were stabbed in Table View, allegedly by the driver, at the weekend.

The pair opened a criminal case at the Table View Police Station earlier this week.

According to police reports, a dispute over destination drop-off led to the incident.

Images of the women’s injuries have been circulated on social media.

“A 39-year-old male suspect was arrested yesterday [Wednesday] at about 16:00 at a premises in Brooklyn, Milnerton. He will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates court on Friday, on a charge of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm,” said the police’s Frederick van Wyk.
