The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) said that plans to relocate people from an informal settlement along the Stock Road train station were on track.
About 900 families were already moved from the city’s central railway almost a year ago.
PRASA regional head Raymond Maseko told the publication that they’ve met with the people of Loyiso Nkohla Mabandla Village, indicating that the relocation programme was still in progress.
“The different national and provincial departments have been reconfigured. There are new players in there. So, the new players will be meeting shortly with the people of the central line, especially Loyiso Village, and all of the other informal settlements there so that we can then start the engagement of where the process is, and by when they are going to be moved.”
